Here is cool graph of the marketing trends in Winters for the past year. As you can see it is still a Sellers Market. We have had some very good sells recently in our upper end market, between $400-$500,000.00. So, if you are a seller in that price range now is a good time to put your home on the market, while those comparable sells are fresh. I love selling home in November and December as you are working with serious Buyers and Sellers. If you would like to get more information on the value of your home be sure and give me call.
I’ll be hosting an Open House on Saturday, May 16 at 1613 Truckee Place in Woodland. This is great three bedroom two bath home that is just blocks from Gibson Elementary, Douglas Jr High, Crawford Park and the old Gibson House. It just doesn’t get much better than this. The home features a very large living space. I have a coy of the pest report in my file. The home has been well cared for and just waiting for someone to come and update it and make it theirs. Come on by between 11-2 today. It is listed at $299,900. On Sunday, May 17, my daughter, Devon will be hosting an Open House at 1032 Adams Lane in Winters. As Devon says, she is a second generation real estate broker. That home is great investment property if you are looking to start or expand your real estate portfolio. It also works well for a family, single person or retirees. It is a 3/1 with laminate flooring throughout. It also has a nice size back yard. It is need of a little TLC but is great buy at $269,900. Devon will be there from 11:30am to 2:30pm. come on by and take a look.
My daughter, Devon, who is a licensed real estate broker, will be holding an Open House today, Saturday Jan 17, 2015, at 119 Westwood Ct. from 12-2pm. This house is a great opportunity to live in a cul-de-sac close to downtown, the City Park and the elementary school. The Putah Creek walkway is just a short walk away and a very popular spot for the locals, especially dag walkers. The home has a see through fireplace located between the living room and the dining room. It has been a rental over the past few years and the cooktop, double ovens, dishwasher and the heater have all been replace recently. To get it ready for sale the owner had all of the interior painted and new carpeting installed. The kitchen and bathrooms are original but at the list price, investing in these upgrades would be well worth it. The lot is almost 8000 square feet, a size that is hard to find around. Make it a point to stop by today and take a look. If you can’t come between 12-2 today you can call Devon and make an appointment to see it over the long weekend at 530-304-2245. Hope to see you there.
It isn’t very often that you find one owner for both sides of the halfplexes located on E. Main Street. In Winters we have a fairly unique situation down on Caselli Court and Lauren Court and part of E. Main Street. The properties are built as a duplex with a common firewall in between them. Each half can be sold individually and many of them are. In this particular case I have owners who happen to own both halves and you can buy one side or both if you like. I have been the property manager for these two properties for many years and now the owners have decided to sell. Each side is currently rented. If you would like more information about this opportunity please give me call at 530-681-8939.
I will be hosting an Open House on Halloween night from 4-6pm at 104 Westwood Ct. Please stop by and view this great house situated on one of the largest lots in Winters, 170,00+ square feet. It has recent updates to both bathrooms and the kitchen, nice soft, plush carpet and crown molding throughout. I will be serving champagne and chocolate so you don’t want to miss that. Trick or Treats for the adult crowd.
Well we did it again, we won the 2014 World Series! My dad would be so thrilled if he were here. It was a real nail bitter and with the tying run on third my heart was pounding! God Bless Sandoval for catching that foul ball and making history. In my humble opinion Panik made the game saving play, Bumgarner saved us with his awesome pitching, and Morse saved us with his batting skills. If any of you are interested the parade will be tomorrow, October 31 in San Francisco. You can count on my assistant, Cheryl, to be there, she has already asked for the day off. I told her no problem, she can work on Saturday. No sure she enjoyed my sense of humor.
Well here it is game seven of the World Series and it is a do or die situation for our beloved Giants. As I write this were are barely ahead three to two bottom of the Fourth. It has certainly been an interesting ride this year but I guess that isn’t that unusual. I was lucky enough to attend game three in San Francisco last Friday, it is one of those Buck List things. It was our second loss but then we rallied back on Saturday and Sunday, fell apart on Tues and now here we are on Wednesday. Many have predicated that this series between two wild teams would come down to game seven. So here is a toast to my team and a prayer for a win. But no matter what happens, there is always “next year”. But hopefully this will be our third World Series win in five years. Can’t wait to see what Tiffany’s will design for their next WS ring! GO GIANTS!
We have not one but two homes scheduled for Open Houses this weekend so come on by. The home at 304 E Baker is a nice, neat and clean 3/2 around 1200 square feet with a nice large yard. The front yard has been recently updated to feature drought tolerant plants and the backyard is full of maturing fruit trees. The home was remodeled two years ago and features new flooring, paint inside and out, updated kitchen countertops and updated bathrooms. This home is move in ready and will be open from 11-2 on Saturday, September 20, 2014. It is currently listed at $295,000.
The home at 637 Foxglove just had a price reduction to $389,900. and is ready for a new family to move in. It has a pie shaped lot that provides a nice sized yard and is very private. The owner developed a nice quite space to relax in, you like this little oasis. There is one full bedroom and full bathroom downstairs and the master and two others upstairs. You won’t believe how large the walk-in closet is in the master! There is room for everything in the three car garage. Come on over form 1-4 on Saturday and take a look.
I found it interesting to go back and look at my old post from 2009 regarding the fire up around Lake Berryessa. I had a picture of a helicopter coming down and getting water out of the lake to throw on the fire. That year the fire was more on the west side of the mountains. This year the fire started on July 4th east of Monticello Dam and burned down toward Winters and north. It covered close to 7000 acres. On the evening of the 5th I attended a wedding on the south side of Winters. As we watched the sun set the sun was a brilliant orange/red from the smoke. Several of my friends who live in the foothills were asked evacuate their homes during the fire which was very frightening. . Due to the expert work of our local firefighters and the responders not one person lost a building. That is pretty amazing since the fire burned within 10 feet of the office at the camp ground located at the base of the dam. We are all very thankful to them for protecting our community.
Today , April 26, 2014 is our annual Youth Day celebration downtown. Start your day with the pancake breakfast at Community Center. Then mosey on downtown Main Street and view the parade. The Kiddie Parade starts at 9:45AM and the Main Parade kicks off at 10:00 am. Afterwards, head over to City Park to eat and check out all the things for kids to do. If you are really adventurous then sign up for the Horseshoe Tournament. Down at the other end of Main Street there are lots of adult activities at Rotary park. There will be some wine tasting and art await you. Welcome to the Winters High School class of 1964 here for that big class reunion. No matter what you do, enjoy the day!
